GRIT Team Network is a dynamic research and project network established by education practitioners and researchers from various disciplines and locations. Like the word ‘grit’ represents resilience, perseverance, and determination, our GRIT Team embodies these qualities. We envision making a significant impact, both nationally and internationally, by developing projects that transform education. Our long-term goal is to be a pioneering force in research and innovation within this field. In line with this vision, each member of the team is an active participant, leading projects, generating innovative ideas and striving to realize these ideas. In this context, GRIT positions itself as a team that develops projects in strong collaboration with the community and academia, is open to interdisciplinary studies and acts responsibly.

As the GRIT Team, we stand for more than just a name.  As a team of dedicated, passionate professionals from diverse backgrounds, GRIT is united by a common vision: to create meaningful, lasting impact in our society through research, innovation and technology

We declare the following values and commitments that are unconditionally embraced by every GRIT member who is conscious of their mission and truly willing to invest their time, energy and skills to make a difference:

1. Active Participation at All Times

Joining the GRIT Team is not just about being interested, it is about being committed. Each member actively contributes not only in word but also in deed – generating ideas, initiating projects and participating in activities. The GRIT team is a team for doers, not for spectators. A GRIT member knows that if they continuously contribute to the growth and success of the team, they will create meaning. 

2. Professionalism Above All

Each member demonstrates the highest level of professionalism both within the team and in all interactions with external stakeholders. While we value camaraderie and friendship, professional responsibility always comes first. Every commitment is meticulously completed in a timely and accountable manner. GRIT team members effectively balance sincerity with seriousness of purpose. 

3. Commitment to Making a Difference

We are here to make a real impact for ourselves, society and the field we serve. Each member is motivated by a genuine desire to develop their skills; to contribute to the world around them; and to align with our vision of using research, education and innovation as a force for positive change. The GRIT team is filled with passion, dedication, and a desire to make a difference. 

4. Growth through Commitment

By joining GRIT, GRIT members commit not only to grow themselves, but to help others grow with them. They know that no growth happens by chance; it takes time, effort and a willingness to sacrifice for the greater good. GRIT members know that they must constantly strive to learn, share knowledge and contribute to their common goals; they know what it means to embrace challenges and constantly push beyond their comfort zone.

5. Ownership and Responsibility

In the GRIT team, each member takes ownership of their tasks and ideas. A GRIT member is not just a participant; they are a leader within theır sphere of influence. Whether they are contributing to a project or bringing new ideas to the table, it is theır main responsibility to fulfill his/her role with full commitment. Unfinished work has no place in GRIT. A GRIT member fulfills their commitments on time, valuing credibility and accountability. 

6. Transparency and Open Communication

Silence is not an option at GRIT when it comes to development and progress. Effective teamwork requires open and clear communication. GRIT members know they will succeed when they are honest and transparent with each other about their capabilities and challenges. They provide constructive feedback if a teammate needs support; and are transparent about their capacities and contributions. 

7. Active Participation in Decision Making

The GRIT Team recognizes that success is achieved by practicing collaborative decision-making processes. Each member is expected to contribute to the decision-making process by offering ideas, providing feedback or leading initiatives. GRIT’s success is directly proportional to the active participation of everyone with different perspectives in open brainstorming sessions and planning processes.

8. Respect the Balance between Innovation and Implementation

Innovation is one of GRIT’s core values, but innovation without implementation is meaningless. The GRIT team expects its members to bring new ideas to the table, but also to follow through by turning those ideas into actionable plans and deliverables. Balancing creative thinking with disciplined execution is key to achieving GRIT’s mission. Each member is equally committed to strategic planning and effective implementation.

9. Sustainability through Commitment

GRIT’s long-term success depends on the continued commitment of its members. Long-term commitment is expected from every team member. Those who join the team are ready to stay engaged, contribute and fulfill their responsibilities over time. This requires a consistent and persevering mindset, even when the road gets tough.
