And now who she thinks she really is:)
‘Who in the world am I?’ Ah, that’s the great puzzle!” Can’t help thinking of this quote of Alice in Wonderland when I need to write about myself. Well, I am a human being, a woman, a mother, a teacher, a joker and a dreamer. I am into art and believe that music is the best therapy. I am an explorer an animal lover, a dendrophile and translator a performance artist and storyteller. I am a traveller on a cosmic journey. Stardust. I am all of it and none at the same time. Books are my passion. And when people ask me what I do I can’t answer right away. I must think for a while. I guess I consider myself as someone who is trying to teach German and English for quite a long time (since 1999 J) I also try to teach my students to get rid of their biases and tell them that differences make life more colourful. That we can all live together in harmony as long as we respect each other. I try to teach them the importance of tolerance the willingness to understand and respect different views even when we don’t agree with them. I want them to consider that they should not take themselves too seriously as each of them is just as important as everyone else. I try to make them understand that reading books and travelling will broaden their mind, and nature is their real home. And that kindness and love are the greatest virtues in life. I remind them that ‘When we strive to become better than we are, everything around us becomes better, too.’ I aim to encourage them to follow their dreams as ‘the possibility of having a dream come true makes life interesting’. I advise them to listen to their hearts and to believe in themselves and remind them that they do not have to follow the crowds. And not to forget that they are all unique and each of them matter. Last but not the least, I define myself as a world citizen and I believe that all living beings on earth are connected to each other in some way. And that one day the world will become one. ‘You may say I am a dreamer, but I (want to believe that) am not the only one.’
And why am I in the grit team? First of all, I feel the need to challenge myself after so many years of teaching. Besides, I love working in a team and brainstorming new ideas. I am hoping to write or take part in a project where I can combine my love of art and my creativity with teaching English and to find partners from other countries who have the same desire.
