Soner was born in Tarsus/Mersin in 1982. He graduated from Anadolu University, English Language Teaching Program. He started his university lecture adventure in 2006 at Zonguldak Bülent Ecevit University and afterwards he finished his master degree in Bolu Abant Izzet Baysal University Institute of Social Sciences English Language Teaching program. He also participated in Erasmus projects such as Equitifola (Equity in Foreign Language Teaching) and Spring Day in Europe. Then in
2012 he started his Doctoral degree in Anadolu University Institute of Social Sciences Department of Distance Education. This makes him combine digital educational technologies and language learning.
